Yoda, a 14-year-old Chinese crested and Chihuahua mix with short tufts of hair, protruding tongue, and long, seemingly hairless legs, earned the title of the World's Ugliest Dog at a Northern California fair this weekend.
Terry Schumacher of Hanford, Calif. who owns Yoda said that she found the 2-pound dog abandoned behind an apartment building and first thought that the pooch was a rat.
Previous winners of the title include a one-eyed Chihuahua named Princess Abby, a pedigree Chinese crested who won in 2008 and another Chinese crested and Chihuahua mix in 2007.
In past years, the winner's owner has received a $1,000 check.
